Wineries are managing an increasing number of regulatory obligations, as well as technical, production and administrative information. To help them with these tasks, the GAIA-C: Advanced Management with Artificial Intelligence for Wineries project has developed a digital assistant integrated into the winery management ERP system.

The tool allows users to ask questions in natural language about regulations, internal winery data—such as stock, production and costs—and records linked to official declarations such as INFOVI and SILICIE. When reviewing records, the assistant is designed to identify potential errors and inconsistencies, explain issues and indicate what should be checked before preparing declarations. Regulatory responses should be verified against official sources and current regulations.

The consortium comprises INNOVI, which coordinates the project; Inaudit and LinkUp, which contribute their technology development and integration expertise; and Recaredo, which provides operational winery expertise. The initiative has also received specialist support from Vinoemoción.

The joint work has established a modular technology foundation that could be adapted to wineries of different sizes and potentially to other agri-food businesses with similar needs. The project has also strengthened collaboration between wine-sector and technology organisations, and opened up new opportunities to develop digital services for the sector.

The project is part of ACCIÓ’s 2025 call for cooperative projects in nuclear transition areas. The modular solution provides a basis for adaptation by other wineries and potentially by businesses in other agri-food sectors with similar needs.
